History Department

There are two full-time teachers in the Department under the leadership of Ms Fiona James, Curriculum Leader. Accommodation consists of two classrooms with a large staff base.

In First and Second Year the Department offers a general course relating the 5 - 14 curriculum taught for 2 periods per week. In Third and Fourth Year the Department offers Standard Grade History taught for 4 periods per week and in Fifth and Sixth Year the Department offers Higher Still courses at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher level mostly of 7 periods per week duration.

In Third Year a residential excursion to the Battlefields of World War I in France and Belgium is offered to Standard Grade pupils.
