The Jacobites (Highlander Web Magazine) These are the pages of the Highlander Web Magazine and are well worth a visit. This URL leads you to the Home pages which have links to pages on The Union of the Crowns, The Rise and Fall of the Jacobite Rebellion, The House of Stuart and Bloody Culloden. Bloody Culloden is a very good site, providing information about the background to the battle, its course and its tragic aftermath.
Scottish History If you are interested in Scottish history, this site is invaluable. It provides links to hundreds of sites relating to the history of Scotland from prehistory to the present day. It is very long but worth looking at - it is surprising what you can turn up.

Population Change (Irish potato famine) This is a good site for The Irish Potato Famine. It provides an outline history of Ireland, an account of the Great Famine and Irish emigration, plus a section on the science of the potato blight.
Population Change (the potato famine and other links) An extensive collection of graphic material related to the Potato Famine, culled from The Illustrated London News, Cork Examiner, Pictorial Times, Punch etc. Again includes links to other sites.

World War One(Anglia Campus) This Anglia Campus site ofers free access to World War I: The Western Front and to World War II 1939-45: Personal Recollections from the Pennines.
World War One (Graphics) A really fine site. It categorises the war in a very user-friendly way, and each category provides good information, high quality graphics and very useful primary sources. Highly recommended.
World War One (Reference library) This takes you to the Reference Library section of Trenches on the Web, a huge site which provides information on all aspects of Trench Warfare. Well worth a visit!
