Modern Languages Department

There are 6 members of staff in this Department under the leadership of Mrs Jaqueline Forrest, Principal Teacher. Accommodation comprises four full-size classrooms, one smaller classroom and a departmental base.

The Department offers 5 - 14 courses in French in S1 for 4 periods per week and French and German in S2 for a total of 6 periods. In S3 and S4, Standard Grade courses are offered in French and German for 4 periods per week each. In Fifth and Sixth Year Higher Still courses are offered at Higher and Advanced Higher level in French, German and Spanish and at Intermediate 2 level in Spanish.

In Third Year there are Exchange Programmes organised with schools in France and Germany. Normally those participating would visit and host an exchange partner during the year.
