Modern Studies Department

There are two teachers in this Department under the leadership of Ms Fiona James, Curriculum Leader. There is at present one permanent classroom in the Department. There are plans for a departmental base and a further classroom.

The Department offers a 5 - 14 course for S1 and S2 pupils for 2 periods per week, in S3 and S4 a Standard Grade course is offered for 4 periods per week and in the senior school Higher Still courses at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher are offered.

The Department offers an excursion to Third Year pupils in conjunction with the Business Studies Department. This visits the House of Commons, the European Parliament and a number of other features on the Continent.
