Music Department

There are two members of staff in the Department, led by Mrs Catherine Thomson. Accommodation comprises two classrooms, a staff base and four practice rooms.

The Department offers a 5 -14 course for 2 periods per week in S1 and S2. In S3 and S4, an Intermediate 1 / 2 course in Music is offered and in Fifth and Sixth Year Higher Still courses at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher are offered.

The Music Department offers specialised musical instruction through a series of visiting instructors and has a wide variety of musical ensembles and groups, including the Celtic Group, which perform at school concerts and other venues.
