A Virtual Kelso High School - Pupil’s Guide
A Virtual Kelso High School - Pupil’s Guide
KHS Chemistry is lucky enough to be one of the UK schools who have been chosen to trial
e-learning resources, produced by YDP, based in Gdansk, Poland.
YDP is a world-leading educational software publisher and e-learning technology and content developer. The company’s clients are major educational textbook publishers from Europe, Ministries of Education, Private Schools and
e-publishing companies.
KHS Chemistry will have access to the Universal Curriculum, which covers Science & Maths. It is delivered through LEO, an e-learning platform that offers a coherent system and a sophisticated virtual learning environment.

Those pupils who have been chosen to be part of the trial, can log-in by clicking on the link below.
You should then bookmark this page on your Browser and go directly there in the future.
Login using your normal school user name and the password provided. Once logged in you can change your password by selecting ‘My Profile’.
Warning: The first time you hit ‘Login’ a window will pop up and will check your computer. When you close that window you will return to the login page. Hit ‘Login’ again and you will enter Virtual KHS.
You will arrive at ‘My Work’
‘My Work’ displays the Assignments you have to complete and the date these Assignments are due. Assignments can be ‘Whole Class’ or directed to just a particular ‘Group’ or can be tailored to just an ‘Individual Pupil’.
The complete ‘Chemistry-Lower Secondary’ course can be accessed from the bottom of the page. This allows you to investigate all the other parts of the course and, for example, organise your own Revision.
‘Weekly Plan’, at the moment, simply shows the periods in the week when you attend Chemistry. More important is ‘Calendar’
‘Calendar’ keeps track of the dates that Assignments are due. However, it can do much more than that. For example the date of the Chemistry Prelim and the dates of the Investigation Practical Sessions have been added to the ‘Calendar’.
These Events appear on everyone’s ‘Calendar’. You can, however, add your own Events to your own ‘Calendar’ so you can add all the dates of your other Prelims, other Practical Exams, Homework from other subjects, Friend’s Birthdays etc.
‘Attendance Records’ , ‘Marks’ & ‘Behaviour’ give your teacher the option to keep an electronic record that you can also access. There is also the facility to allow your Parents to access this information.
The ‘Noticeboard’ can be use to relay information from ‘Teacher to Class’, ‘Teacher to Pupil’, ‘Pupil to Teacher’ and ‘Pupil to Pupil’. Again, it could also be used to relay information to and from Parents.
