As time goes on and humans eat into more and more of our planet's naturaol resources, the list of protected and endangered species grows longer. We are slowly destroying our fragile earth, and not least the creatures on it, who have just as much right if not more to be on this world as we do.

10% of all vertabrates are in danger, 0.18% of all invertabrates are in the same situation, as with 3% of plant species on the globe and 0.0l% of others. Overall, that is 1% of all living things in danger of extinction and 0.1% per year actually disappearing...That is 1000 times faster than the rate of extinction in pre-human times, and it will be an estimated 10 000 times faster in 2050.

If we don't do something soon, this list will grow and grow, and will eventually decline completely as those huge numbers of endangered species become extinct, never to be seen or heard of again on the rapidly changing surface of this earth. Join a charity for the protection of animal species and their habitats and environments, write to polititions, donate money, be careful what you by and where it came from or rig up your garden with wildlife conserving things - a birdbox, a beehive, a wild patch of long grass, and do your bit to protect the thosands of species hovering on the brink of extinction. Time is running out, and when an animal dies out, there's no going back.
