Interview with Mr. Euan Robson MSP

Q. What do you think of Mr.Brown's budget?
A. I think that there were several missed opportunities. He has not helped the poorest people and has in fact raised their taxes and he has not helped small businesses because he has raised their taxes as well. He also should have done more to encourage people to go green by cutting taxes on solar panels and wind turbines for houses. He has helped pensioners to an extent and he has cut income tax for some people but this has been wiped away to a large extent by not raising allowances.
Q. On a scale of 1 to 10 how stressful are the elections?
A. 7 or 8 because there is so much to do and so many people to see in such a short space of time.
Q. Who do you think is your biggest rival within the Lib Dems?
A. I don't really have a rival.
Q. If you could, what new legislation would you make for education?
A. I would change the curriculum to give more choices but you might not need a law for that.
Q. Do you think Menzies Campbell is the best leader for the Lib Dems?
A. Yes.
Q. Do you agree with Mr.Brown's decision to put up tax on higher polluting vehicles?
A. Yes, because we have got to try and reduce carbon dioxide in the air because we don't want the world to warm up and the ice caps to melt.
Q. What do you think about the fact that children may now have to stay in school until they are 18?
A. I would like young people to have the chance of education until 18 but with more choices and those choices might well involve being at colledge or local buisnesses so that the may not be in the school building.
Q. Do you think that the rest of your family get stressed around election time?
A. Yes, they end up getting roped in to help out.
Now we are going to ask his daughter the same question.
Q. Olivia, do you get stressed around the time of the elections?
A. I do as much as I can to help out, but it is a bit stressful.
