SoundTown

Since September 2006 Kelso High School has been selected as the Sound Town school connection with Radio Scotland.This has involved a studio being located on site for the 12 month host period and a working relationship developed between the two partners.To date the School has been involved in many live broadcasts to include the Radio Cafe, Get it On, Out of Doors and Sports Weekly.Next Friday, March 30th, Fred MacAulay of recent Celebrity Fame Academy noteriety will broadcast live from the school with special guest Michelle McManus.

In addition to pupils and staff becoming adept at ad hoc radio interviews there has been training locally on all aspects of production and studio technology both being an invaluable opportunity for all concerned.

Mrs McWilliam, Modern Studies teacher and SoundTown co-ordinator stated that this was an invaluable opportunity to bith broaden horizons and raise the profile of the lovely Scottish Borders.
